This a time for just the girls in our youth group to gather, hang out and support each other. Usually the second Wednesday of each month, Girl Talk! meets during Liberty Cafe between 4:30 and 5 pm. Then the girls will plan an outing, maybe a lunch date after church or something like that.

Derek Webb on Faith & Art

Author: admin

You may not know Derek Webb. He was in a Christian band called Caedmon’s Call and now is a solo artist. He really stretches the bounds of what Christian music is and can be. So you usually won’t hear his music on the radio. It’s not that it isn’t Christian 0r radio-friendly. It’s because his message challenges our conventions. It can be tough for us to hear his message because it is so prophetic.

Here’s one of his songs called “A New Law”:

Youth Group on Sun pm

Author: admin

We get together on Sunday nights at 6 pm every week for food, fellowship and fun. We’ll eat, play some games and have an activity or discussion time. This is a great time to bring a friend or check us out for the first time.

Check here for weekly themes or changes to our normal location, etc.

What is Covenant?

Author: admin

Covenant is a time after dinner on Wednesday nights, where we dig a little deeper into our Bibles. You know, the Bible is not like books that only make sense if you read them start to finish. It is more like an onion, where you can keep peeling back layer after layer of meaning. So we take a look at specific scriptures, discuss in small groups what comes to mind, what it can mean to apply this to our lives, and then we pray together.

Covenant is also a time for students to meet in Covenant Discipleship Groups. Our youth director Bart can help these get started. So just ask him if you’d like to learn more.

Covenant meets after the church fellowship supper. That’s at 5:30 pm each Wednesday. So our time together usually goes from 6:15 to 7:30 pm.

What is LinC?

Author: admin

LinC means Living in Christ, which is the name of our Sunday morning discussion. We take a look at a current movie, song, pop culture event, celebrity gossip or news story. Then we apply a Biblical lens to the underlying story to see what we can learn. There’s always free coffee and donuts to go with these great discussions.

We meet at 9:30 am in the Youth Area, which is in the back left corner of the church.

What is Liberty Cafe?

Author: admin

Every Wednesday after school, we gather to hang out. We help each other with homework, play games, listen to music, and enjoy snacks. There is a wifi signal if you bring a laptop. Once you’re done with homework, pick up basketball, Wii, ping pong, foosball, and Ms Pacman/Galaga are available. And our youth director makes fresh fruit smoothies and ice cream floats that run $1-3 each.

Liberty Cafe runs until about 5:15 pm.

Welcome to Our Youth Group’s Website

Author: admin

Chattooga July 2009We’re the youth of Liberty Crossings, a United Methodist church in Liberty Park. Most of us attend Liberty Park Middle School and Vestavia Hills High School but we also have students at International Baccalaureate and Homewood High. Any youth grades 6-12 is welcome to join us. We’re trying to create something beautiful for God, in our church, families, schools, neighborhood, and in ourselves. We hope you will join us on this journey.
